Hello friends and loyal supporters!

I meant to get this out to you days ago, but blizzards and NCAA basketball have conspired to keep me distracted.  I know you'll forgive me.

On with the announcements!

Now Playing

Kiss Me, I'm Irish: Some of you may know that the Village Theatre Project daringly invited me to become a member of their ensemble this spring.  I'm thrilled!  My first performance with them will be in the St. Patrick's Day show, rescheduled due to snow to this Sunday night, March 18.  Showtime is 7pm, with snacks and drinks at 6:30, and believe me, the show is way funnier if you've had a few first.  Yes, the show is all the way in Groton, but it's worth the drive for the unique opportunity to see me as an Irish chick, actually the eldest daughter in a big Irish family, with eleven kids of my own.  Plus, it's a musical, which you long-time fans know I haven't done since possibly 1993.

The show is also a fundraiser, so tickets are $20 for VTP members and $40 for everybody else (including the aforementioned drinks and snacks).  Reserve your seats by phone at (978) 456-7898, or email tickets@thevtp.org.  Full details and directions here.  And no cracks about my accent!

Now That's Scary: I know you've all been waiting with baited breath, and I'm happy to announce that after a mere 4 years in post-production, the first feature film I ever shot, Voice of Reason, is being released in theaters.  Well, one theater.  The premiere is Thursday, March 22, at 7:30pm, at Showcase Cinemas North in Worcester.  I'm not sure if they're serving drinks at the theater, but if not, I recommend bringing your own, because this strikes me as another work of art that becomes immensely more entertaining with the addition of a little alcohol.  And with audience participation a la Rocky Horror, but we'll save that for later screenings.

The film follows the story of Tracy (played by me!), who wakes up in a mental hospital with no memory of what's happened to her.  As she works to reconstruct her memory, we see flashbacks involving a suspiciously abandoned complex, dark tunnels, and a "mysterious figure".  An early review of the film (WARNING: spoilers revealed in the article) has lots of good things to say about me, like "Kortney gives a superb performance, one which, when viewed, will most likely lead to a long and bright future in acting... She definitely makes this movie infinitely better than it would have otherwise have been with another actress."  I never get tired of hearing stuff like that.

I have one comp available to the first lucky soul who requests it.  For everybody else, tickets are $10, available online at the film's website, www.nwafilms.com, or at the theater on Thursday night only.  Also available on the website are trailers, movie stills, and a big creepy picture of my eye!

Coming Soon

Trials & Tribulations: Those of you who came out last month to see the staged reading of The Trial of One Short-Sighted Black Woman Versus Mammy Louise and Safreeta Mae will be happy to know that we've gotten the green light to do a full production of it in May.  And those of you who missed it, you're in luck!  It's a great script and we had a really wonderful cast for the reading, so I'm looking forward to seeing what we're able to do with the full production.  Ed Bullins and Roxbury Crossroads Theatre will be producing.  It opens May 24 and runs for 3 weeks at the BCA.  Full details closer to the date, but you can't say I didn't give you notice!

That's it for this edition.  Thanks for reading and thanks, as always, for your support!

Best,
Kortney Adams
