Hello friends and loyal supporters!
Surprise! I still exist and still send out newsletters from time to time. There hasn't been much news to report of late, but I have a couple quick items to share today.
Let's get on with it!
Now Playing
Got Beef?: You'll have to act quickly if you want to catch this, because Family Beef: Lovers Edition - "an evening of plays and monologues that take a peek at our inner tribal conflicts: at the way we kiss and make up . . . or not." - runs only this Monday through Wednesday, December 11-13. The pieces I'm in (The Place We Met and You, both written by Boston playwright Frank Shefton, and both pairing me with the always-talented Vincent Siders) are running on Monday and Tuesday nights only.
Shows are at 8pm each night at Boston Playwrights Theater. Tickets are $20 per person from TheaterMania (call 866/811-4111), but I have some postcards that will get you in for half price. Call or email me if you want to arrange to grab one from me before the show. Check out TYG Productions' website to see the whole festival lineup.
What's Been Going On
Did Ya Miss Me?: Well, over the last couple of months, I've had the priviledge of doing a massive amount of educational theater - both in town and around the country. I've been keeping busy with Theatre Espresso's Uprising on King Street (where I transform from slave poet to British judge in the blink of an eye!), and City Stage's Buster Has Asthma (where I'm just a 4-year-old who wants to go to the beach) and Nutcracker Players (where I get to be a pretty ballerina, and have so far this season not been mistaken for a prostitute in Downtown Crossing!). I continue to travel doing Deana's Educational Theater's The Yellow Dress - including one show in St. Louis for over 5,000 kids(!) - but it was in Phoenix where one young girl came up after the show and hugged me, whispering "I can't tell my story, but you can." That made me smile.
That's it for this (I told you it would be quick!) edition. I have a few irons in the fire right now, so expect to hear from me again in January or so. Thanks for reading and thanks, as always, for your support!
Best,
Kortney Adams
